50 Years On These Waters
The Man Behind the Wheel
I'm Dan Faoro, captain of the Good Grief. I've been fishing every body of water I could get close to since I was a toddler: largemouth bass in Mississippi farm ponds, trout in Austria's mountain streams, salmon in Alaska's pristine waters, rockfish on the Chesapeake Bay — and for decades now, inshore and offshore fishing out of Bethany Beach, Delaware, which is where my family came since I was a kid to fish and enjoy time on the water.
I run small friends and family trips only — up to six anglers — because that's how you actually catch fish and have a good day doing it. Whether it's a family putting their first kid on a rod, a group of friends chasing tuna offshore, or just a few of us working structure for sea bass and flounder, the goal is the same: a good day on the water, making memories and, if the fish gods smile upon us, a cooler worth bringing home.
My crew and I will put you on fish, teach you what we know, and get you back to the dock with stories worth telling.
On The Water
A day on the Good Grief isn't just about the catch — it's about being on the water with someone who's spent a lifetime learning every wreck, reef, and current off the Delaware coast.
The best days are the ones spent with good people, tight lines, and a full cooler on the way home.— Captain Dan Faoro
